New to this and new to hunting too!I bought my first one off of E-Bay and did quit a bit of research before making the purchase. What I found is each brand had its good points and bad points. Garrett was in my opinion the best bang for the buck. I have been real happy with it. The discrimination works wonderfully and only alerts to what ever you set it to. I love the fact you can go next to something metal and it does not make it go crazy. It takes skill to pinpoint and that skill only comes from practice!!
keep trying is my suggestion to master that skill!

Beginner Heaven
For anyone wanting to start a hobby that has many rewards the Ace 150 is a great way to start off learning how find treasures from the past and from the present. Using this detector for over two years I have found everything from jewelry from the present and rare pieces of American history that date back 225 years. This model is a pick up and go model. After watching the dvd that comes with the detector you are ready to go. Simple to use it discriminates at the press of a button and although it does not have a pinpoint feature with practice it is very easy to scoop or dig up your finds quickly. I would recommend this detector to beginners and seasoned treasure hunters. You do get more bag for the buck on this buy.Average rating:4.0 based on 2 reviews
