My first White's Product disappointment
I was 'out of the loop' of the metal detecting hobby for about 15 years. My last detector was a Coinmaster 5000/D, which I loved and had a lot of success with. At that time, I paid $399 for that detector. I figure time, technology, etc. would bring a similar quality detector down in price ($300 paid for the Prizm III) not to mention the salesperson lied about how 'good' the new generation is. I found out, it is nothing more than a toy. A single step up from an $89 Radio Shack junk detector. I have loads of coinshooiting experience, but it was long ago. I am very disappointed in this detector. The only reason I even gave it 2 stars is it's incredible lightweight. It's a toy. No fine tunability, unreliable random blips/bleeps, no threshold tone not even a volume control. If I was a beginner, I would NOT spend $300 on a 'beginner' detector. Spend $89 at Walmart until you can afford 'the good stuff'. You wouldn't expect $300 would buy a toy. Entry level, maybe but a useless toy, no. Since the dealer does not offer refunds, I'll have to kick it up a notch and see if I can get some satisfaction from Whites. If you are even slightly experienced in coinshooting/metal detecting and are getting back in the hobby after many years out, DO NOT buy this unit. It is NOT for you. It's for a casual user who knows nothing about operating a real metal detector.Average rating:4.0 based on 4 reviews

a good machine
This the prizm ll is a very good machine for the price paid for it. light weight, can swing it all day without feeling no pain. good readout, can read in any light. Can find any coin in the ground at 8 to 12 inch.My only complaint with it is if any other metal is indicated it seems not to be as accurate and tends to bounce around on the meter. the only exception are pull tabs. otherwise it a good little machine

Prizm II: A Great Machine For the Beginner or Pro!
I bought this machine for my fiance, who was just starting out. I took it out on a few hunts and really liked its ease of use. After I gave it to her, she started finding some really neat stuff on our first hunt together. The White's Prizm II is a great machine for the Beginner or Seasoned Professional!Average rating:4.0 based on 4 reviews

Great Detector
The Prizm II is a great detector. It is a right out of the box, easy to learn MD!This detector loves coins. It easily finds gold and silver. When you have a good target, the detector keeps beeping. Lots of times, I don't even have to pinpoint. The pinpoint area of the detector is dead center of the coil, where the shaft meets the coil. I have found that a silver ring will beep in between zincoln, and pull tab, back and forth. The gold will ring in as either foil, or jump between foil/5c. The only thing the Prizm II doesn't have is a depth meter. I wish it did. It is an affordable detector, and a great starter. Anyone new to this hobby will easily find really great targets! It is not a good wet sand detector. The sensitivity has to be turned down real low. With that being said, I have found a 1946 and a 1948 silver rosie dime in the wet sand, but sensitivity was turned way down. The coil is waterproof, but I would never put it in the saltwater. Good luck and Happy Hunting!!'''Average rating:4.0 based on 4 reviews
