How do you rate a detector when this happens?
I had my eye on a F75 after one of my club members announced he purchased one (a minelab diehard) and was completely in awe of this light weight, no battery draining detector from the heavens (well really Fisher). The club member marveled over the designers that were involved (one of them being, Dave Johnson, MXT engineer) and what a great job bringing all the wants and needs of a multi-tasking unit altogether with the well deserved respect of the 75th anniversary for Fisher Laboratories (well now being First Texas acquired). After purchasing one I couldn't wait to give it a try. I read several forum listings that the F75 was very difficult to setup, do to it's being so hot (didn't like EMI, electrical magnetic inductance or really trashy areas) and people would send them back thinking they were malfunctioning. I noticed it right off. The signals were coming right and left. I thought I was hearing morris code. Then I discovered this unit was telling me each and every piece of trash in the ground. I changed over to the small coil and like a flash, it was like day to night. I was able to get in between targets that were only small separations from each other. It wasn't long that I ID'd a solid target in the 30-32 range and holding stable. First target a nice 5.5 gram Star of David in 14k gold (6" deep). Three targets later an nice gold plated Christian ring (small fishes around the center @ 5"). So my first target is great two coins later my third targets a ring, "how do you judge a detector when this happens". Thinking this was going to be just like the MXT I had just sold to get this unit (which I loved as a multi-tasker also)and be a gold finder and nickel picker which I loved in the MXT, it turns out to be a deep diving silver locator also. I have been working this park and locating wheaties (1957-1919) off and on and thought that there may be some silvers left behind (Park is well known to have alot of action in it's prime). I had learned to add some sensitivity, and adjust the disc level (Disc 6, sensitivity 80, notch 1, tones 3, ground balance +2 the grab manually)to 6 and not below 6 (and to be below 20) or it would increase the sensitivity like it would on the MXT in relic mode if you dialed in the hypersat area. This reminded me alot of how the MXT would sound with it's crackling and popping occasionally letting you know it's running on the edge of out of control. Then the F75 shines through. The grab auto balance is great. Just by pulling the trigger you can re-balance any time (MXT you had to turn off and re-start), a depth indicator is on the fly (instead of triggering and getting over the target with the MXT, or just like the Explorers), and a ferrous meter on the fly (instead of just being in the prospectors mode as with the MXT). Or something as the screen being illuminated all the time (without the batteries being drawn) so when the cool evenings would fall you could get in couple more hours of detecting. It was just after the settings were made that I discovered my first silver in this park, a 1957D Roosevelt dime at 9". This is when I was truly impressed with this unit (seeing the white powdered little disk sticking out of that clump of dirt) and I was glad at the choice I had made. With the recovery rate, the depth, and speed of area coverage, I would recommend this unit to everyone. RickyDAverage rating:5.0 based on 3 reviews

F 75
When they said it was hot...but after digging misc. targets and filling up two trash bags of (learning curve) foil, bottle caps, new and old hooks, weights, cans (deep 12-16"),and about $4 in change: a young group approached me for some help. They had lost earring studs, with the backs off the pins, the silver pins rang in at a 35(shaky) id. The backs found by listening to a slight shift in the threshold tone. Sens was near max on white sand beach. Now mind you this was the first outing with the new f75. The detector is fairly easy to work through, if you do a little reading (manual and Internet for tips). As dusk settled the back-light did its job but I was wishing for my headlamp to dig by. Yes this detector is a chunk of cash, but it will do almost anything shy of complete submersion.Average rating:5.0 based on 3 reviews

Fisher F75
Looks like Fisher did their Homework, Very easy to use with several Programs for different soil condition's De=defaultJe=Jewelry, Pf=Plowed field, Cp=Cap mode, All Metal Motion, All Metal Static allows you to detect Deep targets it acts like your pinpointing, which I find works great with both the 11" DD and 6" coil.
Just get close to the target and pull the trigger. I find the pinpointing is pretty much spot on and the depth VDI in the test field with a tape was accurate. Picked up a Clad Dime at 14" with good target ID and audio using the 6" coil. The optional small coil is great for trash separation and getting in small places even shooting the sides of the hole for targets. Seems to be a great little HOT and very sensitive machine, It will take a little time to get use to adjusting the Chatter out due to it picking up every possible target in the ground.
It's a good all around detector with a good ground Balance system just push a button forward and pump the coil to set GB. The features are wonderful and the recovery speeds are Amazing, which gets great reviews as a good Relic, coin and gold hunter.
It seems to pick out targets faster than the Human Brain can process .The tones are from 1 up to 4H . My conclusion is it's a great hi-end versatile machine. I have lots of land lined up to detect and plan on giving more reviews in the future.
Thanks James
