Garrett GTI 2500 Metal Detector

Garrett GTI 2500 Metal Detector…
I have had this detector for several years and have loved every time I go out with it. I have a garden we use to test the ID of the coins and trash and is very accurate.I would say 85% to 90% correct depth, pinpoint and ID out in the fields. My detecting buddy has the Minelab Explorer and he constantly asking me to check pinpoint and size of what he has found!
I would highly recommend the Garrett GTI 2500.

Best Detector Made!

It found 2 pennies at 12 inches, first day I used it. It also found a clad dime at 11 inches in salt water, on a solid black sand beach!

In 48 years of detecting with all top of the line detectors of many other makes, I have never seen any other detector HALF as good as this one!

It is extremely deep in all metal mode, and it still ID's coins in that mode, at incredible depths!

And with the size image available, you NEVER have to dig up any trash! This feature alone is worth the high price of the machine! I never have to dig any trash, unless I just want to check out a strange signal.

It has the option of searching in 8 different frequencies. It is the most versatile detector made, with too many different operating features to go through here. It will eliminate the effects of salt water, there are 3 ways to ground balance it; I always just use the automatic GB, which works full time.

It weighs about 4-1/2 lbs., which is its only drawback. You can buy much cheaper detectors which weigh half as much, but none of them will do HALF AS MUCH al what this detector will do, and they will NEVER go this depth!

I usually find up to 20 coins an hour with it, plus nickles and jewelry. But be forewarned - it does take a lot of time and patience to master this detector.

To me, I would not trade my Garrett GTI 2500 for any other detector made!

third times the charm

I went through 3 gti 2500s before I got a good one and a bad 10x5 schorcher coil but this final unit works pretty much like it is advertised to do I don't think this unit is for everybody it is heavy but now that I have a good one I really like it, I also own a minelab eureka gold, a fisher coin strike and a BH pioneer 505, the GTI has alot of settings and you can customize your own setup and switch between settings very fast, also has manual ground balance and auto, but Garret really needs to work on there quality control, they are just throwing money away by putting out defective products! The complaints I have heard are the same ones I had,I have seen lots of bad reviews that's because they got a detector that was defective from the factory just like me, I was not happy with Garret. My new GTI has lots of depth and great discrimination.and it is very stable. the detectors are not that bad if you get lucky and get a good one.But alot of them are sent out of the factory defective because they were not QCed properly, when they get it right the GTIs are easily a 5 star and beyond detector!

Very Pleased with GTI 2500

I've been using Garrett's GTI 2500 for about 1 1/2 year now and very pleased in its performance. I like it where you can switch from Coins to Custom and switch to All Metal within a few seconds when hunting. Notching is pretty good to accept/reject. The only thing that I don't like is the weight at 4.5 lbs. compared to the newer detectors which are lighter.

I'm still learning the detector and its capability with all metal settings. There is still alot to learn.

Garrett makes some of the finest metal detector's ever!

Garret GTI 2500

Best detector EVER MADE state of the art performance, tons of features and very easy to use but then again so are all detectors. I have worked as an industrial metal detector repair electronics tech for years and these hobby units are very easy to learn and use. So if you are in the market for a heavy but excellent detector than the GTI 2500 does it all.

Not worth the money

I have used the Garrett 2500 for almost a year now. Let me start with the good. The display is unmatched with the depth, size, and material all on the screen. It is a DEEP seeker. It picks up things that you won't be equipped to dig for alot of the time. The problem is, I've only found a few, very few keepers with this machine. I've walked in the same tracks with a cheaper machine and found coins missed by the 2500. Now, there is alot to learn on the GTI, and it has a big coil, which makes it hard to zone in on small objects in trashy places. I have yet to be sold on this machine. It is 2-3 times more heavy than most machines you would use, and this decreases the time hunting, due to just plain, wearing you out. I would say, spend about half to one-third the money, and get a machine that is proven and easier to handle and you will be much happier and therefore more successful.
