The Quicksilver
The Bounty Hunter Quicksilver is a great detector to learn the ropes with. It is a very low cost machine, but with that comes a price. All of the frustrating aspects of detecting are present when using the Quicksilver. Ghost reads, slow recovery time, and no accurate depth meter to name a few. Using this detector as your first detector will definitely teach you the fine art of detecting because it forces you to learn your machine, something high end detectors cheat on. For those of you who are looking into buying a Quicksilver, you will become a better detectorist with this machine, I guarantee it. Buy an extra can of patience with it and you'll do just fine!Average rating:3.0 based on 2 reviews

Decent detector for the price-beginner
This is an entry-level detector. But it is a newer one so I'm sure it's more capable then a much older pricier detector. It has 4 IDs, which seem to be fairly accurate. But there are a lot more then 4 different things that a detector can find so that can prove frustrating. Also it doesn't really have a depth gauge per se. Once you get use to it you can kind of determine a coin depth depending on the sensitivity and raising and lowering the detector over your target.Over all this is a beginner detector and one you would let your friend use while you swing a good one. Also would be a good kids detector. I have seen some false signals occasionally too, but it’s rare. Another downfall is the headphone jack. It’s not your standard ¼” so you’ll have to buy specific headphones for it. Hope this helps, HH!
