Very happy with my first detector
I’ve had my Tracer VI for 3 years now. I purchased it used on E-bay for $80 and have used it about a dozen times. When I got it, the first thing I did was read over the manual. I have to say, the manual is a little vague especially since this is considered a beginner metal detector. As for the detector it’s self, I’m very happy with the operation. So far all I’ve found are coins and lots of junk but I’m hooked. Setting the sensitivity and discrimination is a science that I still haven’t perfected but they do help.The detector is nicely balanced and the shaft is adjustable for any height. The controls are easy to read and I advise everyone to use headphones instead of the built in speaker. Using headphones allows you to hear those subtle differences in the sounds that you may not pick up otherwise.
This is my first detector and I don’t have much to compare it to but I do recommend it to anyone wanting to get into detecting without spending a lot of money.

Tracker IV Good Value & Works Good
Easy to operate, very well built and provides very consistent results. I have been extremely satisfied with the performance of this machine and it is an excellent value for what I consider an "entry level" metal detector.Average rating:4.7 based on 3 reviews

Great beginners detector
I have found this detector very easy to assemble and use. It is very light and not a complicated machine to understand. It can be used on the beach in wet and dry sand and also in shallow water. Have found plenty of coins, some at around 18 inches and jewellery, plus other interesting items. The batteries last for well over 20 hours (longer if using the headphones. I would recommend this detector to any beginner or experienced hunter.Average rating:4.7 based on 3 reviews
