Bounty Land Star

I have been detecting for about a year and using the Land Star It was easy to learn and use. The controls a simple and right on the money. It has a very good read out and good battery life. this machine has found coins that others have missed.

Bounty Hunter Landstar

In comparison with similarly priced detectors:

This detector is above average for the following:
- silver.
- coins

Large silver rings read as 25cent and above. Target ID is very accurate.

It is below average for depth.

Therefore the best use for this detector is parks and ball fields, to hunt for coins and silver rings (dig anything above 10 cents on the meter, if you don't want to dig the junk).

It is also very good on dry sand beaches, either freshwater or saltwater. Not good on wet salt beaches, false a lot.

Overall, a very good machine.

Great Mid-Range Detector

I have owned the Land Star for about 6 months now, and I like the machine very much. It is light weight, easy to understand and use, and has found better finds than my 2 previous Bounty Hunter Models (the Pioneer 202 and 505). it can detect coin sized objects up to 10 inches deep, and larger objects up to 2 feet or more. The Discrimination on Bounty Hunter Machines is top notch. I find the readout to be highly accurate. The Depth meter is very accurate also on coin sized objects...The three tone audio discrimination is great for hunting at night or in low light conditions. It gives you a clue as to the range of targets that may be under your coil. Pin-Pointing with the Land Star is a breeze..You can either "X" your target, or use the ALL-METAL no-motion mode to pin-point. I have gotten to the point that I can dig a flap no larger than 4 inches wide, and have the object under that flap 90 percent of the time. Here in Syracuse, NY, the ground is medium to highly mineralized, but the Land Star cuts through this and still gets the finds. I would recommend this machine to anyone who is just starting out, or those who wish to upgrade from simpler machines..Another fine Bounty Hunter Product.
